July 2nd: Weekend Excursion to Fiesole

Today was a really good day. We had a late night and got up around 10:30 so that was really refreshing. Then we went to the city of Fiesole which is above Florence, so I got some really nice shots of the entire city and the surrounding area. It was also really cool up there so I was feeling pretty good.
Basically we went and had a picnic in the park. I tried new bread which was nice, and then I played some Frisbee and worked on my photography. Towards the end the teachers played the students in a game of Frisbee football. They threatened that if they lost there would be consequences and I retorted back to them. In the end the game ended in a tie though because the Frisbee went off the cliff. No gelato for us and no curfew for them, so it was a fair ending but everyone had a lot of fun.

For the evening activity we climbed on the way up the Piazza Michelangelo. It was like three miles walk and up really steep steps. I was out of breath, but the view was worth it. You could see everything for miles and it was like the many stars in the sky; lights were just shining so brightly in the darkness and the Duomo and few other churches were lit up, so they realy stood out among the many buildings of the city. I hung out with my friends and ate some gelato, trying the tiramisu flavor. It was a good day and night.
