So today was a very fun day. We had to wake up super early however because we needed to take a two hour bus ride and then a train, so we got up around 6:30 in the morning. The bus ride was really relaxing and I was able to listen to my music and relax for a little while. The countryside was nice but nothing amazing really popped out at me. After we got off the bus we went on a fifteen minute train ride which was nice until we finally reached our fist destination; Cinque Terre.

Cinque Terre is a small town that pretty much sits on the mountainside above the sea. The train was literally over the sea so I got some really good pictures of the waves on the rocks and even a cave. The water was sooo blue and I could see it stretching forever across the horizon. We all took a group picture. Then we started a little fifteen minute hike on the Cliffside. It was pretty much a trail for lovers because love locks were everywhere and people had written their names on the rocks and even carved it in the cactus. It looked like people from all over the world had gone there. Other than that though, I got some pretty amazing shots.

At the end of the trail we had a choice to either hike all the way to the beach or take the train. I opted for the train because I knew I wasn’t going to make it. The beach was nice but very small, smaller than my backyard. Xaymara, Claudia, and I went to a little café on the cliff to eat and had some really nice spaghetti. For dessert I tried for the first time Tiramisu, it was really good but not as good as the dessert from last weekend. Then we went to the beach.

We found a little place for us to lay our towels and then Xaymara and I went swimming. It took a few minutes to get used to the water because it was kind of cold, but the rocks were the worst part since they were so jagged. I found a smooth one though and practiced my ninja skills by trying to stay on it with one foot. Xaymara kept being knocked around by the waves because she is so small and it was pretty funny.

Then we went back to the same café for dinner to get some well deserved steak. It was really good and I ordered a side of potatoes with it; the funny thing was that Claudia’s plate came with potatoes and I didn’t realize that it wasn’t the side dish so she was just like “Maddie these aren’t yours” and I was saying that it was the side dish but then the waiter came over and said “those aren’t your potatoes” and laid my ones down. Funny moment!! Anyway, after that we went home and I slept a little on the bus and then passed out when I got home.
