So today was a really good day. For drawing, since this is the last week and we are going more modern and everything, we took a short bus ride to a train station that is literally a gallery for graffiti art or spray painting. It was really cool; there were all these whacked out designs, some good some bad, and it literally was just a huge painting of organized chaos under the street. I got some really good shots with some of the really big pictures. Afterwards, we went up and did our own spray art on cardboard. It was really hard to get the spray out of the can though, so my pointer finger got really sore and I had to use my thumb so now both fingers are sore. It was worth it however. What was funny was that because everyone needed to share the sprays, we were all running around and asking for different colors, especially black. When we finished, we taped them all together to make a collective work of art and then taped them to the wall for everyone to see.

The Opera was called La Traviata and it was pretty good. It is amazing how people can control their voices like that. The story was about a woman who is a prostitute and is having a relationship with a gentleman. However, the man’s father thinks she is only after his son’s money so he convinces his son that she is cheating on him. Her lover then disgraces her and then there is a duel and then he learns the truth and she dies of tuberculosis. It got so cold that I had to use Claudia and Callie as blankets and we were all freezing. The opera house was even selling blankets!
